Craftsmen, saddlers and leatherworkers still work in the traditional way for luxury brand Hermès - that's something the family-run company is proud of and so it regularly sends its skilled craftspeople on trips. For the first time, the "Festival des Métiers" took place in Vienna, in the fitting surroundings of the stables at the Spanish Riding School. There, craftspeople from nine different disciplines showed how bags, saddles, gloves and watches are made.
Our task was to provide professional support to the French-speaking craftsmen and ongoing interpretation of the presentations for visitors.
Our team, under the leadership of the project management, comprised ten experienced hosts and hostesses with perfect knowledge of French, who interpreted the craftspeople's explanations from French into Germany for the visitors, and likewise related the visitors' German questions to the workers in French. Throughout the entire event, our team thus ensured lively communication between visitors and craftspeople, and thus a successful event.
